Dr. Erdem Ilker Mutlu joined Istanbul Bar Association in 1998 as a practicing lawyer. In 1999 he was appointed as a research assistant in which he completed his first master's degree EU Law at Marmara University EU Institute in 2000. After having started his PhD, he had a JM Scholarship from the European Union-Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he pursued an LLM degree in International Law at King's College London between 2001-2003. In 2004, he did his PhD research at King's College London. In 2006, he completed his PhD at Marmara University EU Institute. Between 2006 and 2011, he served as the Chairman of the Istanbul Bar Association Human Rights Center. Dr. Mutlu has been a lecturer in vocational training within the Union of Turkish Bar Associations (UTBA) and the Istanbul Bar Association for many years. He has extensive experience in many national and international litigation cases. He is a current member of the academic advisory board of the UTBA Human Rights Centre. In 2011, he joined Hacettepe University, Faculty of Law as a co-founder and started to serve as the Head of the Department of ‘International Law’. Between 2014-2018, he acted as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Law and a member of the Board of the Hacettepe University Arbitration Centre. He served as a visiting lecturer at Galatasaray University, Bahçeşehir University, and TOBB University. He is a regular lecturer at institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Justice. He still works at Hacettepe University as an Associate Professor in International Law.
Gizem Ece Tekiner graduated from Anadolu University Faculty of Law in 2013 and from the Hacettepe University Faculty of Law Information Technologies Law Master's Program in 2023. Between 2011 and 2012, she studied at Lazarski University as part of the Erasmus Student Exchange Program.
She started her career as a member of the Bursa Bar Association in 2014 and has been continuing her legal career as a member of the Ankara Bar Association since 2019. She is also a mediator under the Ministry of Justice.
She provides legal consultancy services to individual clients and legal entities including Turkey's leading engineering and consultancy firms. Gizem focuses on IT, labor, commercial and corporate law. In addition, she is the legal coordinator of Ankara at Turkey's leading association on children's rights.
Gülce Gümüşlü Tunçağıl graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law. She completed master's degree at Marmara University European Union Institute (European Union Law English Program) with her thesis titled “An analysis on the constitutionalization of the European Union legal order in the light of the European Court of justice case law” and received her doctorate degree from Ankara University Institute of Social Sciences (Private International Law Program) with her thesis titled "Civil air transport accidents in private international law and the legal liability of the carrier".
In 2013, she worked as a Tübitak scholar at the Institute of Air and Space Law at Leiden University. She was awarded the title of associate professor in 2023 with her presentation book titled "Resolution of Disputes Regarding International Industrial Property Rights through Arbitration and World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Arbitration Rules". She continues her academic life as a lecturer at Çankaya University Faculty of Law, Department of Private International Law.
She has studies in the fields of nationality law, foreigners' law, international procedural law, international arbitration, international mediation, international commercial law and international civil aviation law.
Onur Uraz is a lecturer in the field of Public International Law at the Faculty of Law of Hacettepe University. His research areas focus on international criminal law (especially the legal conceptualization of the crime of genocide), human rights law, and international energy law. After completing his master’s degree at University of Glasgow, Dr. Uraz received his PhD degree in International Law from University of Southampton in 2020. Dr. Uraz has been a member of the Resolutions Committee of the International Association of Genocide Scholars (IAGS) since 2017, and a Scholar in Residence at AVİM since 2020.
